All my mountain time this month has been spent at the fires. Lots of snowgum and foothill country has been burnt. Heartbreaking to see the scale of the fires. But glad to have played my small part in a very big effort by so many people.
Its a long way from being over. But with good rainfall at Hotham over night, the fires are quiet this morning and the air is actually clear of smoke.
So much of the country we love is burning. It's going to be a long summer and a hard year. Hope you're going well. Look after each other. Good luck to emergency and fire crews and communities on the frontline. When these fires are over, we are going to have a lot of work to do.
